I steamroll some skeletons using force lightning lol. And there’s a neat little boss fight at the end. ⚡

Together, we broke our bonds and set out once more for the stars… and became psychic… and sought out and attempted to communicate with an eldritch horror from another dimension. One does as one must in a harsh galaxy.

So, why not just have the game set all the other empires the same color from the start? I had one empire build a federation out of, like, 80% of the map, which is HIGHLY unlikely from a narrative standpoint, but anyway, okay, cool, they’re SUPER federation builders… and then intel says they’re gonna wardec me in a couple of years, right?
Okay, I expected that. Right before the war starts, the empire that made up most of the rest of the map just asked them to be a vassal. No war. They weren’t even near each other. Huge empire just gave itself over to the blob. War starts, I’m against everyone. Stretches the suspension of disbelief juuuuust a smidgen 🙂 With the resource bonuses they get on higher difficulties dealing with that becomes a bit mathematically absurd, and it’s not really worth three hours of building prep just for a game to predictably end that way. Federations are waaaaay OP. Empires that can’t diplomacy need something additional in terms of balance, imo. Anyways, good that the game ended somehow. Expansion’s out this week, I think ^^

THIS TIME I played like an actual robot… to great effect. Used my homeworld to manufacture drones pretty much exclusively, shipped ‘em off world to the colonies, and achieved an excellent start, with a bit of micro management. Two wars were declared against me within the first fifty years or so. The first empire to do it was exterminated. The second was cleaved in two, and lost one of its planets to nuclear winter. If you do exterminator bots, it seems that you really do have to expand constantly and play aggressively.

Typical tag team wars situation, and warscore caused my fleets to get separated (which was silly, because I was mopping the floor with them when it went auto status quo), but we’re dealing with it 🙂
(I swear, I think the AI knows when you’re geographically split and takes advantage of it, which is, of course, the intelligent move.)

They jumped me before I could recover from the last big war against their federation. No access to merc enclave fleets + no federation fleet + bad timing = gg for The Fallen Realm. THAT’S what I get for using organic parts. Robots are more better.
