I suppose I should address the Muton in the room. There’s no such thing as “terrorism.” That’s a word contrived by power, to separate the violence of suits, skirts, and uniforms from that of the ordinary or the ‘other.’ All violence is inherently coercive. The only difference is that some violence is necessary or beneficial, and some is simply cruel and self-serving. Knowing the difference is one practical line between good and evil. If only the world felt so strongly when states get it wrong.
