This was an interesting one. I wanted a chill, tall, diplomatic game (lol, right?), so I thought: what if there were some freewheeling pirate types who ran their world shady corporate, and what if they just kept that going when they went into space. So, I chose the hegemonic federation origin. Our federation is basically a gang, with crazy internal tug of war, all while trying to survive external threats. Really neat roll. Tough, but I’ve enjoyed it.
A lot happened. Brought down some leviathans. Shredded our former fanatical purifier antagonists to the south (turns out ideology is no substitute for science), fought back some religious fanatics to the east, even joined the lavender menace federation (and fractured it from within after being promised a casus belli to bail if we wanted but never receiving one), and invaded the butter out of and assimilated… like… everyone, lol. Then it froze and crashed in the middle of the war 🤪
Fifteen hour marathon of Stellaris and the damn thing crashes when things are starting to go really well. Doesn’t that just figure. Guess it’s nap time ^^
Built an indoor farm, basically from start to finish. Cleared out a chunk of mountain, walled it in, situated the various planting areas, and there you have it. Most of the actual building portion is in the final third of the vid, if you want to skip the mining bit.
So many wise, rational, empathetic voices have been silenced by both the reactionaries and the corporate / fossil fuel / Blue MAGA / Zionist establishment. Haven’t said much, but I’ve been watching. They think it’s a win, that change is finally dead, but there’s another way of seeing it. Perhaps those voices were all that were holding it all together, and now that the mainstream is no longer worthy of them it will face the systemic consequences of its own making. The day will come.
For my part it’s even simpler. Choosing someone else over me, willfully misrepresenting me to others for some gain, disregarding my council, attempting to interfere with or sabotage my affairs, demeaning me and reducing me to a construct of what I supposedly am rather than what I have or haven’t done, these are irreversible, permanent decisions. Trust is the most expensive currency, and forgiveness too expensive in this world. Though we meet again after a thousand years, all will be remembered.
As I’ve so often said, I will sit back and say nothing, do nothing, while it all burns. That’s what you wanted. That’s what you will receive. Do not ask for help or support. Do not even hope for empathy. This polity, this world, is apparently not for me or my kind. So be it. We are separate souls, now, on separate journeys. Good luck.
Well, on today’s episode I did quite a few of thing stuff. Did: glass-in the top of the western side of the cave for monster-proof it, dug and finished a boat canal crossing from the large nearby lake to the ocean (part of it is actually a canal bridge so pretty cool), explored and found a ruined portal and a village (borrowed a brewing stand… they had two so I mean…), and started work on a massive agricultural level below the tree farm. It was fun ^^
Started doing things and realized that I was now generating so much stuff that I had nowhere to put it. So, this one ended up being about building and organizing a storage space. Which, I mean, maybe you don’t know about barrels and need to watch a YouTube video about how to put things in containers. If so, I got you covered. I also do a little exploring. At the end I build a pier, a fishing spot, and a little road.
