No one person can ever stand against the combined forces of human idiocy. There are too many of them, too many small minds and rotten little hearts, with a plethora of machines and systems to make them feel larger; to make the messes they can create that much more disastrous. No walls high enough to keep all of them out forever. Claiming social territory with an eye toward permanence is a losing game. All social presence is a holding action, and without sufficient dishonesty soon a defeat.
The way to win, ultimately, if you’re a real person and not an NPC, is to kill all desire, all expectation, all self-regard, within. Become nothing, a machine that fulfils its imperatives with a kind of cold and consistent excellence. Take what enjoyment comes and hope for nothing more. Exist as what they cannot and never will be, out of spite while you are alive, and then die recognizing that it was all meaningless. From emptiness we all originated, and to it we shall return.
The new Cybernetics species conversion path is absolutely amazing as a megacorporation. Things can get real scummy real fast 😆. The attention to narrative detail and mechanical decision-making is rather phenomenal. So pleased with the machine update. Just fantastic.
Spent the evening spreading aspirational cybernetic luxury space capitalism, despite the best efforts to the contrary by my very militant neighbor to the south. ✨ Embrace the emptiness within! ✨🤑
Spent the week painting the inside of my house. Tired of ‘Heaven’s clabbered taint apartments for lease’ as a universal domestic environ. Only half done. Kitchen must be painted ‘I wish I hadn’t eat it brown’ and common areas in ‘there’s no way out of the sky.’ Legs ache after 43 hours of color’s death march. But Friday belongs to Admiral Ackbar, and thus is for video games about space, not for working. Good evening, internet.
