Let’s acknowledge that what I’m about to say has been said, and more eloquently, for decades, especially in the US, and thus barely qualifies as a worthwhile utterance, but there are no words for the hypocrisy dripping from the lips of elites when they talk about nonviolence. Every year the military budget grows, police budgets grow, while they take more and more from the slaves trapped within their borders. And the weapons keep flowing to Israel for its ethnic cleansing campaign.
Because the system itself is violent, organized crime. The crime lords simply better appointed, the henchmen in suits and uniforms. For them, nonviolence means the nonviolence of their victims, bought, intimidated, bullied, beaten, or broken, to the point where they are afraid to do anything but beg for crumbs at a tableau of political rhetoric at which the victim will never sit. Nonviolence means the safety of law for the taker classes, the brutality of law for anyone they see as beneath them.
You either hate the empire or you don’t. You either recognize it for what it is and wish to change it, or recognize it for what it is and wish to use it to your advantage that you might still find a way to set yourself above others. Or, you’re just clueless, and, if that be the case, we await your arrival and your decision once you awaken. But there’s no room in real change for tourists. You either care and want to change this awful world, or you don’t. Sorry, but there’s no middle ground.
