I love how the United States is pretending to apply diplomatic pressure to the Israeli government for a temporary ceasefire while our drones are flying for the Israelis and our aircraft carriers are chilling just off the coast and every time Israel kills civilians or UN staff or journalists or doctors or whoever all you can get out this pro-genocide administration is a line about how Israel has a right to defend itself.

Not only are the Israeli’s consistently, repeatedly, breaking just about every rule that the international community has established since the second world war, they’re doing it with a kind of joyous disregard for not only the rules, but for human life. It feels like every time they are criticized for doing a thing, or for potentially doing a thing, they do it or they do it again just to prove they can and nobody will stop them.

Does no one else recognize how dangerous it is to have a powerful political bloc of nations to which no rules apply?
