As someone living in the United States, looking in from the outside, someone claiming no special knowledge other than what I’ve seen in life and read in books (more books about Israel-Palestine than many people have ever read books about anything, in fact…) I will say this. I have never, in my life, seen America handle this conflict worse, nor have I seen a more ideologically-driven, one-sided refusal to acknowledge the creeping genocide against Palestinians at the hands of Israel.

I don’t know if Biden and his crew have some special affinity for the cult of Zionism, if they’re inexperienced, or if Biden himself is just too old to properly grasp the complexities of the situation. But the handling of this has been monstrously incompetent and cruel.

And make no mistake, the United States is a party to Netanyahu’s Zionist war of aggression and ethnic cleansing against Palestinians, because the U.S. supported it politically, refused to stop it diplomatically, and is supplying military support for it.

Is it as simple as ‘genocidal settler states stick together’ or is there more going on? Either way, it’s wrong. It’s unproductive. It’s a willful and wasteful disregard for human life and for peace. It will tarnish what’s left of the reputation of the United States, around the world, for decades to come.

The U.S. was given a choice between assisting in a war of mad revenge and ethnic cleansing or leading the region and the world to a future of peace. It chose the former. It chose Israel over its own purported principles. That will have lasting consequences. And if your god is real, Biden, you’re gonna burn in Hell, buddy.
