Truth be told, though, you don’t really need to know any history at all to understand what’s going on. You don’t have to be political. You don’t have to be sympathetic or opposed to any of the involved parties. A fundamental truth about most humans is that privilege sides with privilege, especially unjust privilege, because it cannot conceptualize its loss. What lacks privilege is less, is abhorrent, and as privilege arises from, and is sustained by, disparity, what lacks it must be destroyed.
