You know, we refer to the period prior to nationalism and the bureaucratization of affairs of state as ‘medieval’ or ‘dark.’ I don’t think that’s really the case. We’ve replaced principle with amoral policy frameworks, kinship and kindness with entangled alliances of capital and ideology and domination. If so-called advanced systems and ways of living revoke our humanity and diminish our nobility as thinking beings, I think we’re better off without those systems.
