Here’s the thing with Star Trek. Wait for the clever bit. You ready? The clever bit: an organization that has mastered the articulated translation of matter and energy (replicators, transporters, Captain Janeway’s character, Neelix, etc.) should not have to build a damned thing. They have reached an upper echelon of the intergalactic galactic scaling of things. A shipyard is, like, a star, a rock for people to build a base on, and, like, a giant 3D printer. They wouldn’t build starships my friends. They would be manifested, one segment of energy-to-matter data at a time. THAT’S how it’s done in Starfleet, son 👊
