Short version: the insidious other sowing destruction with nutty bullshit in the minds of the wholesome and glorious structure of the vibrant culture of we is nothing new in history. It just happens faster now. But it affects polities that are disparate in wealth, happiness, and agency more than others. People in the West are poor, they are sick, they are miserable, angry, tired, and alienated. And anyone, anywhere on Earth, with a little money can and will weaponize that until you change it.
