There’s a psychological component to the state whereby people feel like they are ‘part’ of it or that they live ‘in’ it but this is cultivated from birth by the apparatus controlled by those who control the state. Thus, the state makes allies, through persuasion rather than coercion, that it uses as assets to maintain the control of the oligarchic minority. But unless your wealth allows you to command a law be made or enforced you are not part of the state tribe. You are either a tool or a victim.
