See, my thinking is that if a particular good or service would be existentially threatening somehow, even economically, to a community or polity if people stopped providing it to see to their own interests, then that good or service should not be sold for profit but should instead be democratically operated and controlled by the community or polity. That is called socialism. It’s this crazy scheme where you put everyone’s needs before the insatiable greed of one or a few. And the best part is you don’t have to have the government bend its dick back around behind its own ass, and thereby make a mockery of the entire idea of democracy or the so-called labor ‘market’, to coerce anybody 🙂
