I mean, if you’re in the God / Devil fandom (personally I ship them, who knows what kinds of debauchery cosmic dictators get up to when the cameras are off, know what I’m sayin’??) the prevailing view of the Christian text is the apocalyptic one.  This is by no means the only interpretation of the Bible, but it is a popular one, particularly since the fall of Rome and all of the geopolitical and sociological BS that went along with that nonsense.

In the apocalyptic interpretation (primarily in the Book of Revelation, but there are numerous mentions of the material in earlier parts) during the final days of humanity’s reign over the Earth, the End Times, the Last Days, whatever your preacher calls it, it is explicitly stated that those working on behalf of evil, those advancing the culmination of Lucifer’s war on Heaven, will cloak themselves in the garb of whatever is considered clean and holy.  It is explicitly stated that they will rep absolute justice and goodness and propriety while simultaneously being the opposite, and that the multitudes will be taken in by this and that the righteous will be persecuted, right up until the final battle where darkness is defeated (not forever… yet… there’s actually an epilogue that comes later that a lot of people don’t talk about, where some things get sorted out for humanity and where the … shall we say… morally ambiguous among us are tested and our worth is determined… which I’ve always found a bit silly since God is supposedly omnipotent but who am I to question fandom canon?)

Anyway, the people will fall for this, and they will rally around the champions of darkness.  And it is explicitly stated that these champions will be heads of states, and that these states will cause great suffering, and they will use the name of God to justify and perpetrate it.

Everyone who has spent any time in church should be familiar with this widespread interpretation of prophecy.  And yet, you still see people rallying around fascists who are playing the role of evil champions perfectly.  But, of course, if it were prophecy they would have to fall for it, wouldn’t they?  That’s one of many, many serious issues with adopting a deterministic view of the universe founded upon the ramblings of random humans.  You’re always trying to figure out what the story says you should do.  Which is doubly humorous when you’re playing the role of the villain, or the villains’ supplicant, that it overtly warned you not to play.

I’ve often wondered if I could seduce God.  I would definitely give it a try, given the opportunity.  I’m probably just gonna get my ass kicked out of heaven, tho.  So worth it, imo ^^  “Is it cool to fuck?!”
