The architects of our republic were right about human nature, though, at least for normies. People are angered if you speak up, especially among those who outrank you socially, angered for hearing what they don’t want to, angered when time proves you right, and angered that you ‘stole’ the words from their favored icon, even if you spoke them first. Where they went wrong was attributing intrinsic worth to the lottery of birth. An age-old human fallacy. Virtue and wisdom can always be found within a mirror, especially in the dark. But now, as then, reality is not a social construction, and it has no care for dubious perception or interpersonal affinities. Reality decides and life abides.
