Got around to watching ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage.′ Aside from being an objectively shit movie from a writing and narrative standpoint, it was really soulless and empty as a superhero story. Made by empty people, for empty people, is what I kept thinking. Marvel is not what it once was. I mean, the villains were an abused mentally ill person and a black woman who used her voice for self-defense. And the heroes were a cop who wanted to drag people off to a concentration camp for mutants and a lawyer who suggests that anyone in trouble should always just tell the police the truth. Besides, what do people have against circles and poetry?! ☺ Also, I would take Venom’s goo hand over Anne’s girl boss energy any day.
