So, today was a lot. I took some time to process it all, and to figure out how I really felt about it. This is how I feel about it.
A country where the president can intentionally let 200,000 of his own people, including children, die, can sell out his own government and military to a foreign power, can operate concentration camps in plain sight, and can actively try to encourage a civil war against the opposition party, that is not rioting in the streets and demanding his immediate removal from office is a country that is doomed to eventual failure. We have allowed the domestic establishment, with its martial, propaganda, and financial arms, to turn us from a country of would-be free people, a country that began with a group of revolutionaries against authoritarian rule, to a country of weak and compliant people who are devoid of any real set of principles that mean anything practically observable. Any constitution or system of laws that says we have to put up with this is not a constitution or system of laws worth having.
