Did anyone else notice how absolutely terrified the power structure was this week? I did. I resent the very existence of the security infrastructure that forces my compliance with a political and economic system to which I have never been offered a genuine opportunity to actually consent. I don’t care about a better or more productive relationship with oppression. I want oppression itself gone. I like it when people who use guns and the fear of economic displacement to control a whole country, a whole planet, are disrupted and forced to show everyone what they really are. They are cowards who rely upon some guards and a few good liars for survival and gratification. They hide behind the fabric of some imagined and contrived social cohesion, behind an indoctrination of an artificial sense of the collective good, and behind false hope in order to keep the world locked forever in stasis and subservience to suffering, destruction, and casual brutality under mass ignorance and authoritarian capitalism. This week showed us that without violence, division, distraction, and constructed poverty, this empire has no hold over anyone, regardless of race or class or gender, because intellectually, humanistically, empathetically, and spiritually it is empty of anything but greed, lies, and tribal systemic retribution. I would call that a successful week for humanity. The great fucking experiment finally taught us something useful after all.
