arm’s-lengthening-echo

May 20, 2020 by achrilock

Building-burn-bridges into air,

hefting-hopes-in-haunted stare,

but known-that-nothing-never there,

and fraught-with-fore-felt-falling.

Better-to-beam and as-bold-smile,

politely-nod-placid-pausing while

saying-absolute-silence-softly.

For if ever-eagerly-easily speak

and-at thoughts-truly sin-to-seek,

quite-often-quelled-or-quashed ‘til bleak,

honesty-having paid-for-punished awfully.

Better scoundrel-no-such-scorned-sound,

though heart-heavy and poured-to-pound,

etched-essence instead-gone-into ground,

connections-courageous-but-costly.
